Frequently Asked Questions:
Can an application be submitted on any listing?
No. All renters or agents representing tenants should review the application instructions and confirm with the listing contact that the listing accepts Apply Now.
Can an applicant reuse an application for another property?
Absolutely! Tenant applications remain valid for 30 days from the original date of submission. This means tenants can apply for more than one property right away, or in cases where an initial application is not accepted.
Can more than one applicant or a co-signer/guarantor be added to the application?
Yes. Additional applicants can be designated when starting the application process. It’s a good idea to contact the landlord or listing agent to let them know a guarantor has been added as an additional applicant.
What is required to complete the application?
Applicants will need relevant personal information, including date of birth and social security number, vehicle information, proof of income, employment information, credit and personal references, and housing/rental history. The applicant may also be asked to upload a photo or scan of a valid ID.
Does Rental Beast provide advice to landlords on accepting or declining an application?
No. Information is provided by a major U.S.-based credit bureau directly to the landlord or property owner. Rental Beast does not view or retain non-public, credit-related information.
Will this impact an applicant’s credit?
No. This particular check, referred to as a “soft pull,” does not impact a consumer’s credit score.
What happens if I believe there is a discrepancy with the screening report?
Rental Beast is only a third-party provider of the application. TransUnion generates all application report results. If there are any discrepancies, contact Transunion.
What happens if no information has been populated in the screening report?
You need to contact TransUnion since they generate application results. Rental Beast is only a third-party tool that provides access to the application.
What should I do if I don’t receive any email notifications regarding an application and am a participating party?
Customers can easily verify email information by accessing their application dashboard, which is accessible by logging into Rental Beast. If input correctly, check the spam folder in your email client. If an application was submitted directly, or if the email otherwise cannot be found, please submit a support ticket.
