How to Use Map Search

This article teaches users how to utilize the Map Search feature to locate the best listings for your client.

How to Search Rental Listings By Map Search

‍To search for rental listings using map search, complete the following steps:‍

  1. Click on the “Search” tab. 
  2. Click the “Clear Criteria” button to reset search filters.
  3. Add any filters you want and click the “Search” button.

  4. The search results will include all listings that fit your search criteria. 
  5. Click the “Map” button. 
  6. Select to use the draw, layers, or boundaries feature to modify your search results.

If you run a search and return zero results, please press “Clear” and then retry the search. If you still get zero listing results and expect to find listings in this search, please submit a support ticket.

How to Use the Draw Feature with Map Search

‍To use the draw feature with map search, complete the following steps:‍

  1. Click on the “Search” tab. 
  2. Click the “Clear Criteria” button to reset search filters.
  3. Add any filters you want and click the “Search” button.

  4. The search results will include all listings that fit your search criteria. 
  5. Click the “Map” button. 
  6. Click the “Draw” drop-down menu, select the shape you want to use, and highlight the area.

  7. Search results will automatically update and show the results in the highlighted area.

How to Use the Layers Feature with Map Search

‍To use the layers feature with map search, complete the following steps:‍

  1. Click on the “Search” tab. 
  2. Click the “Clear Criteria” button to reset search filters.
  3. Add any filters you want and click the “Search” button. 

  4. A user on the 'search' tab searching by a specific city and highlighting the 'search,' 'advanced filters,' and 'clear' buttons
  5. The search results will include all listings that fit your search criteria. 
  6. Click the “Map” button. 
  7. Click the “Layers” drop-down menu and select “Point of Interest”. 
  8. Select the layers to apply to the search. Layer options include supermarkets, restaurants, hospitals, banks, and transportation.

  9. To see school districts in the search results, click the “Layers” drop-down menu and select “Boundaries”. Click the “School District” box to apply school districts to your results.

  10. As you apply “Layers”, search results will automatically update and show the results in the highlighted area.

How to Select Listings in Map Search

‍To select a listing inside of map search, complete the following steps:‍

  1. Click on the “Search” tab. 
  2. Click the “Clear Criteria” button to reset search filters.
  3. Add any filters you want and click the “Search” button. 

  4. A user on the 'search' tab searching by a specific city and highlighting the 'search,' 'advanced filters,' and 'clear' buttons
  5. The search results will include all listings that fit your search criteria. 
  6. Click the “Map” button.
  7. To select multiple listings within your populated search results, click the “Box” icon with three check marks labeled “Area Select”. Click and drag for the listings you want to select.

  8. To select single listings, click the box icon next to the “Draw” drop-down menu with the single check mark. If you hover above the icon, you will notice it labeled as “Single-select”. This functionality allows you to select multiple listings individually for your search results.

  9. To remove an individual listing from search results, uncheck the checkbox within the listing tile. The checkbox is located to the left of the property address.
  10. Click the “Unselect” button to clear all your selected listings.

How to Reset Map Search

After running a search in the “Map” tab, select “Clear Shapes” from the “Draw” drop-down menu to clear the highlighted area.

Using “Clear Shapes” in the search results will only remove your search criteria and not the current results.
